I woke up this morning knowing it was Monday and knowing I normally have something to share.
But this morning, I didn’t.
And instead of reaching for something just so I could say I showed up, I had to remember that there is a difference between having a schedule and having something to say.
We live in a world that encourages us to keep producing, keep posting, keep talking, keep filling the silence.
But sometimes wisdom sounds like nothing at all.
Sometimes the most honest thing we can do is refuse to manufacture a word just because people have grown accustomed to hearing one from us.
Ecclesiastes reminds us there is “a time to keep silence, and a time to speak.” — Ecclesiastes 3:7
Maybe maturity isn’t always knowing what to say.
Maybe sometimes it’s knowing when not to say anything until there is something worth saying.
Provoking Thought:
Don’t become so committed to having something to say that you lose the discipline of having something worth saying.
